Thread: Louis Moult

  1. Default Louis Moult

Just talking to a Wrexham fan who said he knows Louis Moult and he said Rangers and Derby were looking to sign him in last window there but Motherwell wanted a few million for him.

Also said that he wanted to come to us rather than Derby as his kids are in school here.

A few million? Were they throwing in Fir Park and the Aquatec as well?

Doubt it was a few million, 500k would've easily got him nearer the end of the window. Is his contract not up at the end of the season?

    Hes dire.

Look at his sitter against us he went with his wrong foot or it goes in the net. I know this is only one example but believe me there are plenty.

I'd take him on a free at the end of the season.

Has scored against us and the bheasts last season, knows where the net is.

Would be a no brainer on a free if miller retires at the end of the season.

Don't be silly, he's far, far from dire.
Look at the goals he has scored!
As for missing sitters, McCoist would have beat him hands down.

Hes a very average player in my opinion of course.

We need to be aiming higher to take us to the next level.

I know he seems to divide opinion, but he'd be a very decent player to have in the squad.

I don't think he'd improve us at all.

I was told by someone who knows Stephen Craigan that our interest was genuine, but other very good sources have said that was a rubbish link.

It's better than being labelled "dire" I guess.
    What is this "next level"?
For me, it's about getting to second, comfortably second, and closing the gap on the mankies.
This means beating and scoring against the rest of the SPL.
The scoring bit being the bit that Moult has proven to be quite decent at in the last year or two.

Would have been a ridiculous signing for Rangers

Just like Velicka, he would have been a very useful and dependable squad player and would have been able to come in and score 10 goals over the course of a campagn.

Sometimes the difference between winning things and not.

He isnt dire mate, he is a journeyman making a living and holding his own in the Top league in Scotland, if you are comparing him with Messi or Kane then you would have a point, I dont think you were though.

I see the FF Guardiola's are out in force.

It appears there is no line between absolute dross and world class at times on here.

Moult would be a good player to have in the games, for example Hearts at home a few weeks ago. Something different, someone proven at this level.

Perspective people, we finished third last season and Morelos should not carry burden of scoring our goals alone.

Velicka was absolutely not a "very useful and dependable squad player". He was a ridiculous waste of money at 1 million quid and a player who almost cost us the league title by his own selfisheness (lying to Walter that he was fine to play against Hibs at Easter Road).

He had that run of 3 or 4 games where he scored and that was it. Velicka and Boyd up front *shivers*

According to Tam Cowan on Saturday, Moult will be out of contract at the end of this season. January could well be our time for signing a few either on pre-contract or at realistic prices.

  21. Default Re: Louis Moult

Regardless of any views on Moults ability the OP is sh*te. The price for Moult was 500k. Sheep offered 350k and were told as much. 'A few million'! Pffffft.

He's not a bad player but he's nothing great either. Certainly never going to get a "few million" for him. Not even in the most mental of transfer markets.

I'd rather have Moult than Miller but a few Million is laughable, he's worth 500k at most.
