I think it is very obvious the type of player that Pedro wants with us for this season at least; hard working, combative, high energy. He has not signed a single player that is not at the very least 'robust'. Dodoo does not fit that profile. Even the winger he signed has a high work rate and likes to put it about.

I would imagine that the type of player we use will be determined at first by short term goals, ie, he has tried to make us stronger and harder to beat first, with a midfield and defence to carry that out. As we develop, assuming he holds on to his job, he might see some value in players like MOH and Dodoo but for now, they are a really bad fit.

Pedro clearly likes him. He's been training with the 1st team squad continuously whilst others got bombed out.

I imagine Pedro simply doesn't think he's up to leading the line for us....yet. Impressed as a sub but he's never delivered really as a starter.

A good 4 months at Charlton will do him the world of good.

One of those we can't lose with.
Does well, we bring back a confident player and a situation where the manager can be confident in the player.
Doesn't do well, we cut our losses.
Would like it to be the former.

    Instant adulation?
    That helps any player.
Could've dined out on that one for months.
Unforgivable what Forrester failed to do that day.

    I agree.
Getting farmed out on loan doesn't necessarily mean that you're on your way out the door.
If Pedro doesn't fancy you, you get punted sharpish so hopefully he does really well in his spell at Charlton, gets a good amount of game time, builds his confidence and returns as a genuine contender as a first pick striker.

Just noticed on the other thread, he's there to push Josh McGennis!
He better be better than Josh McGennis, despite his goals last night.

He should be ahead of Miller and Hardie IMO.

Since when was a young guy on loan classed as a reject?

Always liked Dodoo and hope he does well for Charlton then comes back up ready to challenge for a place in our squad.

Good for Dodoo. Hopefully he will learn to improve as a player while on loan there and come back as a valuable addition to Rangers. The boy is a goal scorer no question.

Interesting that the Record should report that Rangers loan a 20 year old striker to Charlton and he is a "reject", while Man City loan a 20 year old striker to Celtic and it's treated by the same like the second coming? Didn't see any reject headlines there, despite Roberts being 'rejected' by his parent club for the 3rd season running. Nothing like unbiased reporting!

Hardie, okay, debatable but if that's what you think.
    Not Miller though, not yet.

Worth remembering Dodoo has played just 9 senior games before he signed for us. Hardie had more experience than him.

He's talented but he's also extremely raw.

I reckon Pedro would've sold him had he simply not fancied him.

    He's a loanee

Hardly a reject, I hope he flourishes at Charlton and returns to us in January and is like a new signing

He was brought on for the second half in the Scottish Cup Semi and immediately looked like he could cause them some problems with his pace and strength. Outstanding 10 minute spell at Pittodrie where he scored 1, set 1 up and hit the bar. Hope he returns.
me too, crazy decision, just mental.

This excuse people keep coming up with is absolute nonsense! The weight of the badge ,playing in front of 40-50k fans is too much, the expectations.bullshit most players play for the coin. Many successful players have gone down from the SPL to the championship and flopped. It's quite obvious it's the way we play and get managed. Teams play just as defensive against Celtic and they're banging them in.

Have you ever played any professional sport in front of 10k paying punters?

Great news isn't it? That's the whole point of the loan, hopefully he bangs them in down there and returns in January full of confidence

Yes, and do you personally know the differences between playing in front of Rotherham's average 10k who are happy to pick up the odd point and Ranger's 50k who demand a win every week?

I might be wrong, but I think going out on loan to play first team football against similar opposition to the SPFL will benefit him no end.

If we care to recall, it didn't do Charlie Adam any harm.
