As it says in the header.

It's the Copa Libertadores 1/4 final 2nd leg. It was 0-0 in the first leg, but Newell's are strong favourites after pumping Boca 4-0 in the league on Sunday, although it was a very weakened Boca team.

I like Boca, terrible results in the league where they're 2nd bottom so I find it strange they played a weakened side on Sunday considering their league position!.Wouldn't be surprised they go through tonight as their best results this season has been in the Copa Libertadores, remember they put the holders Corinthians out in the last round.

Playing on the break and hoping to nick one,I'm sure the commentator said there's no extra time if it ends up 0-0 so it'll be straight to penalties.

Bianchi decided after the terrible start in the league (Finale - as its now known) that they would put all there eggs in one basket for the Libertadores. He actually said this publicly.

With relegation being over 3 seasons Boca are not even close to relegation, which has allowed him to do that.

Not been a great game so far, Newell's having the best of it so far, though.

The Argentinian league is one of if not the strangest in the World,I take a passing interest as I like Boca and look out for their results. Is there not basically 2 seasons in a season 1872?.

Delboy1962

Was there not a chance that a club in the league at one point looking to win the league could've been relegated?!.

Them's the margins.

I thought for a second Roman was sticking another one in to the back post before Blandi put his head on it.

Every man and his dog knew Roman was putting the first penalty down the middle.

I hope Tijuana win it now. Gomez had a great song called 'Tijuana Lady' so that'll do for me.

The bottom team are relegated, and the 2nd and 3rd relegated teams are based on a 3 year average points.

It was originally brought in after Boca and River flirted with relegation in the 80's.

Ironically it was what relegated River 2 years ago

Independiente, the Copa Libertadores most successful team with 7 titles, are in real danger of going down this season based on averages

Watched their first leg, cracking game but would imagine Mineiro will be big favourites.

Looked into Tijuana's history, only been going for 7 years and owned by the local cartel.

Fluminese just score, 1-0 on agg.

Real Garcilaso, who went out last night at the hands of Santa Fe, are even more recently formed. They've only been going since 2009.

I've no idea who owns them though.

Miniero tonight. All the fans are wearing scream masks :D

I think Miniero are the best team in it. Bernard Tardelli and Ronaldinho are excellent to watch for them, starts at 2 going to be a late one.

I'm hoping to stay awake for this one, but given that I am typing with one eye shut already, it doesn't bode well.

Been very impressed with AM in this seasons CL

Will record it to watch tomorrow I think

Expecting Galo to win tonight with their home record, not lost in 25 odd home games, and the return of Ronaldinho and J.

Slightly worrying was the fact they were poor in defence at the weekend and ended up losing to a average at best Coritiba team.

Should be a good game.

Slightly o/t but what sort of financial windfall awaits the tournament winners?

I don't expect it to be anything like as rich as the European version but an idea of the prize money would be interesting.

If Atletico Mineiro go all the way, is there any chance they can finish their stadium off?

:D

Prize money

Clubs in the Copa Libertadores receive $25,000 for advancing into the second stage and $210,000 per home match in the group phase. That amount is derived from television rights and stadium advertising. The payment per home match increases to $295,000 in the round of 16. The prize money then increases as each quarterfinalist gets $375,000, $525,000 for each semifinalist, $625,000 for the runner-up, and $1,000,000 for the winner

The winner also receives $2 million from Banco Santander as a bonus.

The top goalscorer of the tournament receives the Alberto Spencer Trophy and $30,000. The best player of the tournament receives the Premio Santander and $30,000. The Fair Play Trophy, sponsored by Samsung, and $50,000 will be awareded for the first time in 2011 to the team with the best discipline in each edition.

Interesting read about this player who I can say I'd never heard of before:
