I was one of them (don't worry, free ticket! :D ) and it was ****ing dreadful. The five Motherwell fans with the drum in the shed to my right managed 2 or 3 chants. The Jambos gave it a wee H E A R T S for a last minute corner. That pretty much sums up the highlights of a terrible game!

Loads of "armageddons terrible" replies.
It doesn't matter that teams are about to fold and nobody's interested in the sh!tty league,it's all great cos only a few points divide top 6.

ICT now joint top with Savco.

Hibtic, Abergreen and Motherwell all just 1pt behind.

If Jambos take any points of Scumtic tomorrow then nerves are going to get even more frayed at Torbett Towers.

Things may be looking a little more competitive. But even with the possiblity of Savco actually getting overtaken at the top the attendances are not improving at all.

What the pundits forget is that only one team can win the championship, and if, by some miracle it is not Savco, only one teams support would improve. The rest just wouldn't be arsed turning up.

Aunty Christ
28-11-2012, 02:30
No one wants to watch sport when it isn't competitive. Scottish football wll never be competitive so long as the limited finances are distributed so unevenly.

The only solution lies in sharing income evenly AND creating a pay scale for all players.

Forget the number of teams, leagues, pyramids, summer football, better coaching, facilities etc etc. The ONLY solution is to make the game COMPETITIVE.

The SPL organisation including its member clubs cannot afford to say anything other than the league is booming. The whole world knows otherwise but the comical ali act must continue.

Beyond doubt is the following;

1. Scottish football in its current form is doomed regardless of whether Rangers are in the top tier or not. 2 SPL divisions will make no difference if crowds remain as they are. Proposals need to take into account the costs of playing in the senior leagues and look at regional leagues if need be. It is inconceivable that it can remain affordable to have fixtures such as Stranraer away to Elgin (for example) in the same league. Pyramid structure to include looking at bringing in junior teams into senior leagues.
2. Even allowing for point 1 above it is beyond any doubt that those currently in the SPL, including Celtc, are desperately missing the payday that a Rangers visit brings.

Up for discussion is the role that Celtc are playing in keeping this season's league competitive. I'm not buying into this concentrating on Europe crap, to me it looks like there is something not quite right going on in order to keep the league competitive in order to boost crowds. Failing miserably by the looks of it.

I would like to think that if our circumstances had never occurred and with a full set of players including some of those who left in the summer that we would be currently 9 or 10 points in front in that league at this stage. I can see no reason why Celtc aren't so someone has to explain what is going on. Either that or they are one of the worst Celtc teams in recent history if they can't be 10 points in front. Hearts are in disarray, and were poor anyway. Hibs, both Edinburgh and Dundee versions, are poor sides in a desperate situation. Motherwell are piecing themselves back together after their own financial problems, Killie are in the grubber as are a few others.

Oh yes the SPL is booming. So much in fact it is due to go BANG.

I think Celtic are suffering from the same thing we did at the beginning of the season. It's as if their players (with good reason) know that they will win the league so can't be arsed putting in any effort in case they get injured for the CL games. In our case, players perhaps perceived themselves to be better and expected an easy ride. Celtic know they will pull away at some stage so at the moment the SPL is a temporary inconvenience that gets in the way of European games.

The people saying it is the "most competitive SPL ever" are laughably deluded. We know, and so do they, exactly who will win the league and exactly who will go down. The proof of this? No-one is turning up. If it was actually competitive and Aberdeen fans really believed that a win last night would give them a shot at winning the league, then some of them would've turned up to watch it.

For all the blogs, forums and BBC shite saying how the SPL is booming, they all know deep down they are in trouble. Bring it on I say.

Up for discussion is the role that Celtc are playing in keeping this season's league competitive. I'm not buying into this concentrating on Europe crap, to me it looks like there is something not quite right going on in order to keep the league competitive in order to boost crowds. Failing miserably by the looks of it.

You could add to that, the fact that the SPL only has a 1 year deal with Sky and Lieswell is Chief Negotiator.

If Celtc win the SPL by 30 points this season, Sky will not be interested next year.

If the SPL is a close run race and Celtc win it by 4 or 5 points, Sky may be persuaded to strike a deal.

I have told plenty of people down south that Celtc will lose or draw games, whenever they get a cushion of a few points. They will undoubtedly win the SPL, but by no more than 6 points, rather than the 30 points that you would expect.

They lost at home v Killie for the 1st time in 70 years and lost at home v ICT for the 1st time ever.

One of my mates down here is kicking himself, as he was going to back ICT at the weekend at 8/1, when I told him that the game would be thrown, to keep the league close, but he didn't beleive it.

We are supposed to believe that the world beating, best Celtc team in years, about to make the last 16 of the CL, are only capable of getting 25 points from 14 games in the SPL.

With no matches v Rangers this season, you would expect them to reach a record points total, as they have dropped more points against us every season, than any other team.

Only twice in the last 15 years have the SPL leaders had less than 35 points at this stage of the season, with the lowest recorded being 31 points after 14 games. The average leaders total for 14 games is 37 points.

Yet this great Celtc team has only mustered 25 points from 14 games.

Last season they dropped 15 points in the whole season v teams outwith Rangers.

This season they have already dropped 17 points.

The SFA Panel that investigated us had the cheek to suggest that we were guilty of rule breaches that were only just short of match fixing.

Maybe they should look elsewhere, as the whole thing stinks. :ninja:

We should have tried to get into the bottom teir in England instead of re-joining the Scottish league.

These threads are so stupid.

There's no players on the pitch so for all we know that was 20 mins before kick-off.

If you want to show how bad their attendance is then at least make sure you do it when the players are on the field. That will give a true reflection.

And spoil everybody's fun.>:)

How would it work. Any player that is 1/4 decent would go to England as an equal pay scale in Scotland would be derisory in comparison. All you are doing is racing to the bottom.
