Given that Ally stated last week on RTV that we needed 10, or 12 players (and we will almost certainly now lose Goian, Boca, Edu, Wallace and Bedoya on top of that), where will we recruit players from?

Will will go with the Gretna model, ie paid modest SPL and First Div players higher wages that everyone else in Div 3 to ensure promotions?

Or will we try to source younger guys, maybe cast aside from bigger clubs where they haven't made the grade, augmented with our own products like Perry, Hutton, Cole, Heggarty etc...

Thoughts?

In division 3 it will be kids with one or 2 experienced players like mculloch, maybe get Davie weir back

We will attract good players. Players who will be able to say that they helped Rangers back to the top and who might not have had the chance to play for Rangers in different circumstances

I would hope a mix of experienced seasoned pros and youths with potential. With our attendances we can afford to pay decent wages.

many a player will now have the chance to "play for the team I love" which would never have been possible for them before. play for the jersey and be able to tell their grandchildren in years to come they played for the worlds most successful club. so I think we will have some experienced guys see out the end of their careers and our pick of the kids. I would love to be a half decent 16 year old today!

Maurice Ross and Bob Mlacolm are on free transfers and they might feel that they owe the club

Kevin Kyle said on the radio a few weeks ago that he would play for us WHATEVER division

i'm sure McCoist stated last week at that meeting with the board & fans that Healy had already left.

Cousin!? He could rarely be arsed in the SPL, can you seriously see him strutting his stuff at Links Park for small wages?! Not a hope in hell

thought goian said he was happy to play where ever as his family are happyly settled in glasgow.
i hope some of the players stay with some new and fresh youngers .

btw the chat of gazza and mols coming back is that nonsense?

Gazza couldn't play, he looks terrible there's no way he would be fit enough to play football at any level

I would take mols back in a heartbeat he still ooozes class at the masters. Even paying him 1k appearance money plus his expenses for 10-15 games is a no brainer for me

As another post said I think a lot of players will have a look at it and sense a opportunity to play for a big club rising back to the top

You do not pay decent wages in the 3rd division, maybe first division wages to get players who would get you promotion but no more than 1000 per week. Paying over the odds has been rangers biggest failing over the years, it is a new era and we have to cut our cloth to suit our circumstances.
