I vaguely remember the story where people were smashing up Vodafone stores

Going by that maths then 50m hopefully goes down to 2m

It was.

But when the taxman is owed 6 BILLION it is he who has a problem. When the taxman is owed pocket money like 50 million, it is the taxpayer who has the problem.

Not when the taxpayer has a secured creditor who could walk away with almost all the assets.

Any idea how much they were likely to owe if they'd went to court and lost?

IIRC Arsenal had set up individual trusts for each of the players with the player being the only beneficiary which is where they fell foul

What amazes me is that the english media did not run daily hangings for arsenal, nor did the BBC initiate an investigation into their conduct or any of the board members financial and business histories.

Strange that!
