Captain of a premier league team to west ham seems a strange choice!

Bizarre move if true, though he is very close with Allardyce.

Joey Barton not been in talks with anyone yet?

What an absolute fool.

Must be the money

ulsterbearinbath
15-06-2011, 12:38
£3 million bid turned down over the weekend, so they must have stuck at least another million on that.

Instantly becomes the best player in the Championship by quite some distance(as Parker won't play there) and reunited with the guy who moulded his career.

Must be getting good money as you'd imagine a few EPL clubs would have been interested.

cant honestly see why he would move there, maybe with Newcastle signing the Lille mid maybe hes been told he might not play as much

West ham also signed Faye from Stoke on a free transfer.

He has been essential for Newcastle during the past two seasons.

It will be interesting to see who they replace him with, as most of their goals came from him last season when Carroll left.

Doesn't have to be though as long as they get up, alythough not sure how WH fans will feel about it they seem to want their team to play football.

Yep, like the free flowing fitba that mesmerised the EPL last season, West Ham are shite, dunno where this garbage that they demand this cavalier fitba comes from, reminds me of the mince you hear from a certain club in this city.

he is a very very good footballer in British club football - very wierd move though he is being reunited with Big Sam

not strange at all.

sam allerdyce is manager and he's proved himself to be very good at championship levels.

he wanted a 5year deal at newcastle, they are investing in a younger squad.

fully expected.

nail on head. add the fact that he was only getting a new contract if they finished top 6 next season, which is highly unlikely, so he's obviously going to prefer a longer contract elsewhere, and he's reunited with big Sam.

Parkers replacement? Bit of a coup for West Ham all things considered.

BlackIsleBlue
15-06-2011, 14:14
Loyalty to a man who put him on the map, and belief that he can help drag the Hammers back up to where they belong.

I would imagine he is well paid at Newcastle.

I admire him for this move.

Setting out a marker that they are properly funding their promotion push; and that means Parker won't be let go on the cheap (even though he's clearly been replaced here).

Nolan was one of our best players last season, what the hell is Pardew thinking!
I just bought my new home shirt and stupidly thought I'd get NOLAN 4 on the back because he's guaranteed not to leave:mad:

Nolan has been angling for a move since early this year. I don't think he gets on with Pardew too well.

Must be a hell of a promotion bonus in it if he's willing to drop a division though.

I'm not sure it's a done deal that Parker will go, a 31 year old who's on over £100k a week with 4 years to go on his contract.

Would you match that ?

Faye, Nolan. Big Sam.

We all know what that West Ham team is going to look like next year and it ain't going to be pretty.

SA's remit for next season will be to get West Ham back up, if he'd been brought in to replace AG in January the Hammers wouldn't be in the Championship.

Have West Ham freed Ba and Hitzelburger?

15-06-2011, 14:58
Maybe has a great relationship with Allardyce and doesnt like the Ashley / Pardew situation at Newcastle.

Do think it is a strange 1 though, and can see Newcastle toiling next year!

rez_1873
15-06-2011, 15:00
Yeah, pretty is normally the key to get out of the Championship.

QPR, Norwich and Swansea.

All play attacking football, all promoted this season.

In fact apart from Forest, all the teams involved in the play offs played a decent standard of football, far removed from the Allardyce blue print.

Very dissapointing news. Great player, great captain and 31 goals in 2 seasons from a midfielder is an amazing return. He leaves a massive void, that's for sure.

Good luck Kevin. Those 4 goals against the mackems last season means you'll never have to buy a drink in Newcastle again!

As a lot of championship clubs will have a wage and transfer budget bigger than that of Rangers I fail to see your point. West Ham are rumoured to have offered Nolan £60k a week. Rangers couldn't touch that so are you seriously suggesting West Ham are a bigger club than Rangers?
