He was a good player, positionally excellent and never gave the ball away.

Some of his performances in Europe were sensational.

He never really suited the SPL or the formation/tactics we played with. Him and Ferguson never played well together because both liked to drop deep for the ball. He would of suited playing alongside a guy who was more attacking.

Another one I recall hearing at the time was that when each player got their allocation of uefa cup final tickets, he did not use his full allocation. Local players who could have done with them many times over, namely big Kirk, asked for first digs on them.....Hemdani agreed to give him his tix but wanted money for them. The guys who sat next to me knew Kirk from the Ayrshire village they came from, said the local gers in the team were disgusted by him and he didn't get any respect from them from that point on.

yes, and it cost him 10m in lost CL revenue AND Cuellar leaving AND a panic spending spree straight after. A big big part of the financial trouble that period was, especially given the 7m spent before on Lafferty Miller and Velikca.

Not fielding Hemdani and Cousin was greed and complacency, and we paid for it.

He dallied on the ball and then passed behind the player time and time again.

He refused to be panicked into aimless blooters and his team mates could be slow to give him a passing option.

He was a far better player than Christian Dailly, and higher class option than Kevin Thomson or Lee McCulloch, no offence to them.

He was a very decent holding midfielder.

Positional sense was excellent and very rarely did he waste possession which was invaluable in our UEFA Cup Final run. His performance in Lyon was just a masterclass even at Champions League level.

His lack of first-team action ultimately cost us in the Semi Final and Final because he was absolutely rank rotten. Not his fault I may add.

In 2006/2007, he was absolutely outstanding. Deserved POTY that season.

Overall, I'll remember him with more good memories than bad. He was a very decent player for us and one of our better 'footballers' from recent years. Unfortunately, in Scotland he was always going to struggle due to the high tempo and 'tough-tackling' midfielders.

done a great job at what he done. He made Alan Hutton the player he is as well, people who dont actually watch the game wonte appretiate his positional sense where he covered our attacking players. Just go and check our European record with him in the team and then without him in the team. We dropped him for dailly and knocked out of europe from Kaunus straight away.

And he wasnt shite in the SPL, won our player of the year.

Thought Hemdani was a very classy midfielder. Shows part of the problem with our support, defensive midfielder's need to be all blood and snotters, kicking anything that moves to be effective for them. Hemdani was one of the best I have seen at intercepting passes and recycling possession, crucial in the run to Manchester. Surprised he didn't get picked up after leaving us

The Hemdani was not suited to Scottish football argument is also complete nonsense. I remember at the time there was stats getting thrown around on here which showed our SPL results (significantly better) with Hemdani in the team compared to Hemdani out it.

His positional sense was wonderful, very rarely did he need to throw himself into tackles. I was hoping Thomson and McCulloch would take note. His control of a football was different class and he very rarely gave the ball away. As Jamie Redknapp would say... he has a lovely habit of passing the ball to one of his team mates.
