Interesting reading, they seem to be in a bit of a mess at the moment but regardless i think they will still be a very capable side.

2-0 The Gers for me!

Title should be Rangers v Sporting. :(

Read that earlier on twitter. It's a good little preview and you certainly get the feeling that Sporting are not expected to come here and get a result judging by the writer's view. Been keeping a close eye on their form and they have been inconsistent all season. They play Benfica at the weekend in between the two ties with us.

Their defence seems pretty suspect the couple of times i have watched them, but they did record some excellent results in the group stages including beating Lille in France, It is a winnable tie but we need to be at our best. Interesting the journalist thinks it could get ugly if we score early.

Were the authors Portuguese or British?? They got the 'guffawing heartily' at the Tarriers getting papped out by Braga and Utrecht spot on. :)

We've actually a good recent record against Portuguese teams in the last 10 years.

We've beaten Maritimo (On penalties)
We've beaten Porto at home and drew away from home.
We've knocked out Sporting.

We have been poor of late, but so have they. I think we'll win tonight.

Sounds to me that they might have a stronger midfield, but their defence has been leaking goals recently. It could well be a high scoring affair

For me the key is how well Bartley/Edu stiffen our midfield

Stuck a wee $10 on Rangers/Rangers at Tabsport here in Oz @ $4.25.

Mon the Gers :)
