Gabriel is an African Church of Scotland Pastor, a few years ago on a visit to Scotland he was taken to Ibrox by the Rev McGregor of Hillington Parish Church, he took in the match on the Saturday and did the tour on the Sunday and has been in love ever since

On his way into Ibrox a wee Keelie asked, "Where ye fae Big man"
he Replied "Uganda"

"That's a long way to see the Rangers"

He answered "I know I love it"

Earlier in 2010 thanks to an appeal on FF we sent his village 100 Rangers tops.

Here are some Pictures

Thanks to all who made this happen

Is it Uganda that Bobby Williamson is currently managing?

I know it's a sub-Sahara African country.

The church runs a card and gift shop on Paisley Road West, all the proceeds going to the kids in Uganda, if anyone's passing they could pop in and buy their cards/wrapping paper/other useless tat from there.

Whereabouts on the PRW? If it's near to the ground then popping in via the subway might be an option.

When my dad met my sisters boyfriend for the first time years ago he said to him, "I expected you'd be black"
he replied "Whys that"
in a broad glasgow accent

The old man then says
"Im sure Nashy said you wur a kenyan"

mate, Ive held these pictures back for a well over month as I'd emailed them to Lindsay Herron editor of the Rangers News with all the pictures, a story and a letter of thanks from the CoS Minister from Hillington.
I also let them know when the Pastor was back in Scotland (sat 18th Dec) and provided him with contact details incase he wanted to contact the Pastor to do a quick interview
I also provided details for myself as a point of contact

the reason I held them back was i didnt want them to say they couldnt use them as theyd been on the tinterweb - I was giving them a first dibs exclusive

I heard nothing back.
I then Contacted Ibrox who assured me the email address i had used was correct

still nothing
I then contacted Rangers Charity Foundation with the same email - they replied saying they would forward my email to the Rangers News

still nothing
not even a sorry we're not interested reply

just nothing.

This does not surprise me in the slightest as they (Lindsay Herron) has yet to reply to a single email about the Erskine Appeal

I invited them to send a jr reporter and photographer to the sponsorer walk in glencoe in 2008, to meet the bears and find out why they had taken the Erskine appeal to their hearts

again nothing

not even a polite refusal - NOTHING

you will find however they are not slow at nicking pictures off this site when it suits them - see the one in the Rangers News 3 weeks ago of Hubby walking onto the Ibrox turf dressed like Howard Hughes, well it lay in Mr Hubbards scrap book for 60 years till sam cook posted it on here - 5 days later it was in the Rangers News

My GF is from Malawi. Anytime she goes back to see the family, i give her old strips & training tops. As far as i hear, there is quite a few Gers tops on display in her families home town, (Blantyre, Malawi). I hear she's even got them singing BJK!

You'd probably be able to talk to Ali Russell if you'd rather take it to him - I've heard he's quite approachable.

Russell_Nash
24-11-2011, 20:16
The way to get action in cases like this is to go straight to the top.
Write to Craig Whyte at his home address (you can find it if you want to), firstly apologising for doing so but explaining it was the only way you could guarantee your letter would reach him. Explain how idiots like Herron are letting the Club down, and that you assumed those days were over. You'd probably be able to talk to Ali Russell too if you'd rather take it to him - I've heard he's quite approachable.
