As some of you will be aware there will be a deputation of the Rangers Bretheren heading to Liverpool on Sunday to honour Nigel Pickup who was the Ibrox Disasters youngest victim at only 8 years of Age.

Please use this post to convey any message that you would like passed to the Pickup family and I will print this page out and take it to Liverpool and hand it to them personally at the weekend

On behalf of all Rangers supporters i'd like to appologise that it has taken almost 40 years to honour young nigel.
He along with the other 65 were never forgotten.

The loss of any life is tragic but Nigel's was worse as his life was only starting. No words can make up for the loss but loved ones live forever in the hearts of those who remember them.
The Rangers support will never forget Nigel and all other absent friends.

I agree with Campsie and...

Id like to convey our goodwill and respects to Nigels father in Canada as well as the rest of the Pickup family.

Nigel would have been a year younger than me. I've had a pretty decent life and I am so sorry that that life was denied to Nigel.

I remember my uncle was at the game. He always went to leave by the same stairway. He had left before the end. But this of course was before the days of instant tv reports and mobile phones. My aunt was never so glad to see him turn up bladdered at about midnight that night.

Can only guess at the anguish the Pickup went through that night. Horrendous.

God Bless.

To Nigel and all 66 cruelly taken early from the Rangers family, the same words seem appropriate as when we remember others who are no longer here.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn

At the going down of the sun and in the morning

We will remember them.

Times like this that you really have to take stock, look around you and see the things that we take for granted, like life itself. Nigel, wherever you are, god bless you.

My thoughts also to the entire Pickup family and the families of all the casualties from that awful day.

And with the Angels You'll be singing
Up in heaven in the glen
you'll be happy and contented
When the Rangers win again
On your harp you will be playing
In the sky way up above
You'll be singing Follow Follow
To the Rangers that you love

Sleep well young Nigel Pickup,
a missing son of the Greatest Family in the World
Always in our hearts

the Lord Bless thee and keep thee

God knows what the family went through from that black day
when towns up and down the country buried loved one's who went
to a game and never came back.
They all had that love for the club we all share today and were happy
knowing we had got a draw not knowing what lay ahead.
Nigel was at his first game and being as young as he was just makes it all
the more tragic,we usualy say following Rangers you get hooked from day one
and im sure Nigel was and would still have been going today, from that day every Rangers supporter who was around and also passed on to their sons and daughters how we lost a part of our family .

What your family and all the others have been through now going 40 years
with cherished memories of their smiles and a love that lasts forever
they will never be forgotten .

God bless yours and all the other families. RIP Nigel.

As above, I was fortunate that my father and friends were celebrating the New Year too much that he did not collect me or go himself, as stairway 13 was the area we normally stood.

May I just say that the 66 people lost that day are NEVER FORGOTTEN by the Rangers Family and are certinly in my thoughts ever since that terrible day.

I hope that the good lord has looked after them and as well as my father who passed away just over 5 years ago, and that we will meet them in the Ibrox in the sky on our own deaths.

Condolences and my thought are with you all

Safe in the arms of Jesus,
Safe on His gentle breast,
There by His love o'er-shaded,
Sweetly my soul doth rest.
Hark! 'tis a song of heaven
Borne in a song to me,

Over the jasper sea.

Safe on His gentle breast,
