Remember the day that Mrs Thatcher visited Ibrox and it was a Saturday, must have been a Scottish Cup Day, as the Mhicks beat us in the previous round.

Nice pictures of some of the talent, wish I was the age I was then, compared to the stage I'm at now, and also, I wonder how many times that the snooze camera man, caught a photograph of Rangers scoring? As Paul Daniels would have said, "not a lot".

Some great pics, mate.

I'm sure the Rangers News headline for that Terry Butcher pic from the Skol Cup Final was 'Hampden Heartache'. Saddo alert. :p

Exciting times to be a Rangers fan. Every week was a big story.

Whatever happened to the Struth Park idea? Do we still own the ground?

The proposed Struth Park is now part of the Police Village off Edmiston Drive, just a goal kick away from Ibrox.

The rumour was that there was toxic of some kind underneath the ground at where the old park of St. Anthony's, namely Moore Park used to exist.

This thread reminds me of every time I visit the auld dear...

I keep getting asked 'when are you going to come and get those old rangers news?'

Me - avoid answering....

I collected them for years when I was at secondary school and when I started work....

I think I might dig them out now.....;)

Awesome :D. Takes me back to my school days when I couldn't wait for a Wed to arrive and the paper boy would deliver my Rangers News.

Would take it to school, ask to go to the bogs, and spend 15 mins in the gary glitter reading it :D

Memories, brilliant.

Bringing back memories!

This is when I started buying the old Rangers News all the time when I was 7, used to cut out all the bits I liked and put them in an old photo album.

The Rangers News is frankly quite pish now compared to then, although I have not bought it in years now. Still put them in front of the Celtc ones though anytime I get the chance :D Duty and all that.
