I was fully supportive of the manager and his staff and was willing to give it the time to come good, unfortunately they weren't and tbh I'm looking forward to the game more than I would've been with Warburton in charge as every game this season has followed the same pattern.

I don't want us to change too much in shape and the way we play but there are adjustments required that weren't being made by the previous regime that we were all aware of and we would all agree we just didn't have the quality to pull off the managers tactics.

I hope to see a 4-2-3-1 tomorrow which I feel will suit us better give us a better chance of playing to our strengths, let's see the pressing high up the pitch back, if we have to go long for ten minutes and play in there half then do it and most of all let's see the attacking movement and hunger to get in the box.

Hoping for a 3-0 win.

Mon the Gers, just do it.

Let us all see that with the rigid system history, you can turn on the style.

This is a vital game for everyone Rangers, let's have a show to be proud of.

2-0 with a wee bit of a swagger will do for me.

Mon the Gers, just do it.

Gobsmacked about the management situation,Murty hasnt had much time with the players one day, a hard game gets even harder. Hopefully he inspires the players to victory. The future is what i fear, we need an experienceened manager who plays exciting football.

Just took tomorrow off as a holiday and purchased 2 tickets for me and the daughter, this is my club and its bigger than any manager or player or chairman, I'll be getting behind the team no matter who we put out, I'm so disappointed with Weir, I thought he was made of better stuff as a Rangers Captain, just shows you that behind it all it's the money that matters, couldn't care less about Warburton or McParland

Last time Morton visited Ibrox (2-2) they could easily have gone away with the three points. They played counter-attacking football and ripped our defence to shreds on umpteen occasions. That's why the attitude of the players will be so important and I don't believe for a minute that this one is a foregone conclusion. Although I expect a Rangers win I wouldn't be putting much on it if I were a betting man.

I hope he does make a few changes. Two up top for starters. This is probably his only chance to show what he can do even though he won't be anything other than a very short term interim. If he goes with a piss-weak no change policy then I'd question what the point of keeping him on longer than one game would be.

It kinda reminds me of a time when Durranty had a single Scottish Cup game in charge (after PLG???). Can't say for sure but my hazy memory suggests we lost that one. Hope history doesn't repeat.

I don't think he's had the time to make major changes even if he wanted to.

I'd imagine the experienced pros like Miller, Hill and Wallace will have been assisting him a bit.

I wish him well and hope the team respond.

Murty has been playing 4-3-3 in the youths as well, as instructed by Warburton.

There will be no change in formation at all, and any change in personnel would be minimal

Wouldn't be shocked to see Hailliday and Wilson starting, and maybe young Gilmour coming on at some stage

From what I've seen of Gilmour he looks a smashing prospect but is well away from playing for the first team.

He's a very slightly built 15 year old.

I'm assuming you haven't seen him play mate?

Gilmour can't play as far as I'm aware - pretty sure you need to be 16.

And he was red-carded in the last U20 match, so even if he was old enough, he'd probably be suspended.

Imagining Walter takes over the team and what side he would go with i recko something like this -

Foderingham
Hodson
Wallace
Senderos
Hill

Halliday
Hyndman
Holt
Mckay

Miller
Garner

4 across the middle halliday left midfield

May seem boring to some but for me would be a steady Eddie team for the rest of season

Can't see us being much different in shape or personnel. The forwards just need to start getting better at converting chances to goals. As bad as our defence is, if the goals were going in at the other end then the team would all get a bit of confidence.

Billy Gilmour poised to make Rangers history as he is included in squad to face Morton

Rangers caretaker Graeme Murty has promoted the 15-year-old midfielder into the first team squad and he will become the youngest ever Ger if he makes an appearance.

Rangers prodigy Billy Gilmour could make history this afternoon by becoming the youngest ever first team player at Ibrox.

The teenager has been named in caretaker boss Graeme Murty’s first match day squad for the Scottish Cup clash with Morton.

And at just 15 years and 246 days old the midfielder would easily beat Derek Ferguson’s 34-year record for being the youngest Ger. Ferguson made his Rangers debut against Queen of the South in 1983 aged 16 years and 24 days.

Gilmour has risen to prominence this season after a series of sparkling displays for Murty’s development side.

He was invited to train with the first team last month and was pictured with Mark Warburton at Auchenhowie on the ex-gaffer’s last day in charge on Friday.

Gilmour’s ability hasn’t gone unnoticed by the big guns down south either. We told last month how Chelsea could be set to make a move for the youngster who shone in Scotland's recent Victory Shield tournament.

Manchester City, Manchester United , Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Barcelona are also said to be keeping an eye on the midfielder.

I think there is maybe a rule in the cup where you need to have 3 youth players in the squad?

I don't think wee Billy is ready to start a first team game yet.

I doubt many changes to the system or personnel today with Murty only having a day to prepare things. Hyndman for Holt from that night though.

Well done to the lad for getting called into the squad. I doubt very much we will see him on the pitch and, probably, wont even see him on the bench for an important cup-tie with an interim Manager in charge. It's just not happening.

I remain of the view that it's too soon for him either way. He's a bit to go physically before he's ready; they can barely get a shirt to fit him right now he's so frail looking. This is about dangling a carrot to the lad with big decisions to make.

Be interesting to see how today pans out. At a guess, I'd say Murty will stick with whatever MW's game plan was and leave it to the players to implement it. I doubt we will see much variation in either personnel or tactics.

Why are folks surprised that we have the same players, the same formation and, most probably, the same tactics as last week? Murty has barely had a training session with the squad far less time to drill in a new formation or anything else.

In fact, I'd say his input to today will be fairly limited. The players will haver prepared with W & W through the week and the instruction will simply be to go with the game plan. He will look to the senior players to do the organising on the park.

Not ideal - but that's how it's going to be.

I suppose it doesn't matter who we pick as the majority of players are rotten. That's the Warburton legacy.
