According to Sun website.

DAVE KING could be poised to hand Rangers fans a massive boost by luring Davie Weir back to Ibrox.

Weir and his impressive boss at Brentford, Mark Warburton, have been discussed by the new board.

With Ally McCoist on gardening leave and caretaker manager Kenny McDowall working his notice, King is targeting the appointment of a manager as top priority.

The Castlemilk-born chairman-in-waiting has spoken of his desire to bring in a ‘coach’.

He said: “My thought is that, at this stage in Rangers’ history, we need less of a manager and much more of a coach.

“It is not as if we are going to go out and buy a new team. We need someone who is going to build, develop and bring youngsters through.”

SunSport understands Weir would jump at the chance to return to Ibrox. He and Warburton are set to leave Griffin Park in the summer.

They probably know as much as the rest of us. Interestingly though I see Gordon Wallace on the Record website mention it too . . .

"But there are others from different backgrounds, like Brentford’s Mark Warburton, who have a headful of thoughts on how to run a club and a team – not all of them conventional – and who would be worth a look."
